USP laser deposition
Coldab ultra-short-pulse (USP) laser
deposition is a cold ablation technology
that works across a range of coating
materials and substrates. Diamondlike coatings create surfaces > 40 GPa
with a low coefficient of friction and
no pinholes. The structure and properties of the coating can be customized,
including nanostructure-scale surface
coatings.

Lasers for plastic and
metal welding
The TruDiode 151 is a 150 W fiber-coupled laser and the TruDiode 301 provides 300 W laser power. Wavelength
range is from 920 to 970 nm, with
continuous-wave (CW) or modulated
CW up to 3 kHz. Both have a 150 μm
core diameter. They are produced with
the integrated TruControl 1000 operator interface.

Nanopositioning stage
The LPS- 24 miniaturized, piezo-motor-driven linear positioners measure less
than 1 in. wide and provide 15 mm
travel range with closed-loop sensor
resolution up to 2 nm. Equipped with
a piezo-walk motor providing thrust of
5 N ( 1 lb), users have a choice of two
linear encoders. A vacuum-rated version is also available.

Prisms
Prisms can be made to customer specifications in quantities ranging from
prototypes through batch runs to production quantities. All configurations—
amici/roof, bi-Fresnal, corner cube ret-roreflectors, dove, equilateral, isoceles,
penta, rhomboid, and wedge—can
routinely achieve angle accuracy > 2
arcsec, surface accuracy of λ/20 p-v,
10/5 surface quality, and microrough-ness of < 1. 2 nm rms.

Terahertz camera
The IRXCAM-THz-384 camera module
uses uncooled microbolometer detec-
tors for imaging in the terahertz range.
The optimized 384 × 288 pixel array
detector, with 35 µm pitch, is combined with a custom-designed lens to
yield high-resolution, high-sensitivity
images. The module provides a 16-bit
raw output for developers of beam
profiling and see-through imaging
applications.
